i-swing

i-swing is the fourth iteration of personal mobility concepts by Toyota, after p.o.d, PM and i-unit. With its small, flexible body, the i-swing fits right into a person’s living space. It exhibits human-like freedom of movement and can be highly customized.

The i-swing offers two driving modes: two-wheel drive for confident and safe driving while moving among people and three-wheel mode for highly manoeuvrable performance on the same roads as regular traffic.

Through two-way communication employing a range of advanced devices, this new form of mobility goes far beyond the capabilities of conventional vehicles.

Features

Exterior design

The vehicle body is designed less as a car than as a new living form. The i-swing’s minimalist body shape is constructed from shock-absorbing polyurethane.

Artificial intelligence

The i-swing uses artificial intelligence (A.I.) technology to communicate with the driver, taking the form of a virtual character that appears in pop-up displays. A.I. allows the vehicle to learn the driver’s behaviour patterns and select information based on this learning.

Customisation

The fabric on the i-swing’s exterior surface can be detached and changed. Both the frontal door and triangular back panel have an embedded full colour LED display matrix, allowing the user to choose still or video images to display.
